chatuvo does not ask for your sexual orientation, gender, or identity. Anyone can enter any room. The gay chat room exists so gay men have a dedicated place to find each other easily, rather than searching through a general room.

The room works like every other room on chatuvo. Messages are distributed over the decentralized Gossip network, with no central server storing the conversation. Your messages live on your device and the devices of the people you are talking to, and they are removed when the network purges them.

If you are new to online chat rooms, the gay room is a good place to start. It is active, friendly, and easy to jump into.

Not every conversation belongs in the public room. When you want to talk one-on-one, click on a username to open a private message. Private messages between two users are encrypted end-to-end, so only you and the other person can read them.

In a private chat you can share files and photos, or start a video call. Video calls run over WebRTC, a direct encrypted connection between your browser and theirs. No third party can read your messages or watch your call.

Before starting a video call, remember that the other person can see your IP address. That is usually fine, but if you want to stay as anonymous as possible, stick to text and files.

The gay room is a community space. Most users are here for friendly conversation, flirting, or dating. Treat people the way you want to be treated. If someone is not interested, respect that and move on.

If a user is harassing you, sending unwanted explicit content, or making the room uncomfortable, block them. Blocking is instant and permanent from your side. The more people who block a problem user, the less their messages reach the room.

The room is 18+ only. chatuvo's safety filter blocks messages that look like they come from minors, but you should also report minors by blocking them immediately.
